Jewel Box and other brightnesses
The bees are sandwiched between a package of fondant and a pollen patty, which should keep them through the rains. They are well. I have renewed my apiary registration, gathered nettles, whistled at blackbirds, greeted muskrat and beaver. All around me is an unfolding and softening of winter’s stiff and brittle ways.
